Carless streets, pedestrians, bicyclists and dodging the streetcar in 1908 Barcelona. Gaudi was run over by a street car. I visited Barcelona last year and they’ve since moved their transit underground. Safer for everyone.

The Urban Blog has a great post up about the conniving Seattle legislature slowing down construction of a light rail system in Puget Sound.

U.S. Secretary of Transportation’s blog lays out what steps cities need to take to make more livable and sustainable developments. It’s all rather vague, but essentially it’s all about making things more compact and dense.
